Health and wellness are my passion and this is expressed through Body Wise Health which I started in May 2010.
I have more than 25 years experience in the field of Physiotherapy, having worked in a vast range of positions in New Zealand and overseas in the USA and the UK. With a Masters in Health Science in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, I am an APPI Pilates Instructor, a qualified Occupational Health Physiotherapist and trained in Acupuncture for Musculoskeletal conditions.
My mission is to help others achieve optimal health and wellbeing and I have a strong belief in a holistic and proactive approach to health. I do this through a combination of traditional Sports Physiotherapy, Massage and Myofascial Therapy, Acupuncture, Spinal Mobilisations and Manipulation, Pilates, Wellness Coaching, Woman's Health, Stress Management and Work Site Assessments.
LOVES: Mountain bike adventures, time spent with two naughty burmese cats, baking (and eating) ginger crunch!

I graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy in the UK in 1992 and worked in the field of Orthopaedic Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Outpatients within the NHS for nearly a decade.
My husband and I came to Christchurch in 2002, fell in love with the Kiwi lifestyle, and lapped up all the opportunities for adventure that the South Island provides.
As well as raising a family, running a business and competing in multi-sport races for many years, I have gained experience in a variety of private clinics in the city.
My areas of physiotherapy interest include Post-Operative Rehabilitation and those niggling sporting injuries that have become chronic. With all my clients I try to think outside the square and address underlying muscle imbalance issues in other parts of the body.
I believe in empowering clients with knowledge about their condition and try to give them useful skills for ongoing self-management.
I am a member of Physiotherapy New Zealand and have post graduate training in Manipulative Physiotherapy as well as Acupuncture for musculoskeletal conditions.
LOVES: Running, mountain biking, ocean swimming all year round, family campervan adventures in our converted fire truck (called Kermit).

LOVES: Travelling to new places with my trusty back pack on. Quiz night with our neighbours is a highlight of my week.
